'Posada' is a ritual started in Mexico over 400 years ago. It represents the pilgrimage of Mary and Joseph as they go to Bethlehem. Our Posada represents the journey up to the birth of Jesus.
Our Crib figures start their Posada journey on Advent, Sunday 1st December.
The basic principle is that the figures will pass through the parish until Christmas Day and they will arrive back in church for the service of welcome.
The intent is to promote the personal involvement with your fellow parishioners, as well participating in the greatest story ever told.
Receiving and passing on the figures gives a good opportunity to briefly get to know you fellow parishioners and the children just enjoy the experience.
